Summer League posted on 07/16/2008

I want to start with a giant HURRAY for the signing of Diop and the re-signing of JJ Barea.  For some reason these 2 guys just make me happy and they make me even happier as Dallas Mavericks!

Onto other business, I've been watching some of the Mavericks' summer league games from Las Vegas over the last week or so.  I've been very impressed with Shan Foster, the Mavs 2nd round draft pick from this year.  I hope they actually sign him and keep him around because he can certainly shoot the basketball, which is almost always helpful!  The others I've been enjoying so far are Singleton and Seibutis.

I'm headed up to Utah next week to check out some of the Rocky Mountain Revue and will come back with LOTS of pictures to share!

This is the first of probably many blog entries expressing my feelings about NBA basketball and more specifically the Dallas Mavericks.

Since it is the "off" season there isn't too much for me to say right now except I hope the talk of Diop coming back to Dallas is true!  I missed him the last part of the season!  There are some pretty big names out there in the world of free agency, it'll be exciting to see where everyone lands!

I'm also curious to see how Rick Carlise pans out.  There were so many coaching changes in the league, it'll be interesting to see how the different teams emerge under new leadership!  I'm also curious where Avery Johnson will end up.  Even if it didn't work out with the Mavericks, I think I'll always have a soft spot for him (unless he ever ends up in San Antonio or with the Lakers!)
